Today we had a surprise visit from Dr.Rose-anne Camilleri and Ms. Antoinella Giles representing eTwinning Malta where the children of Year 3D and KG2R were given prizes for their participation in eTwinning day celebration (9th of May). Year 3D also took part in the eTwinning spring competition. Both classes are active participants in the eTwinning online platform.
eTwinning is an international online platform where educators and their students come together by sharing learning online through eTwinning interactive website. eTwinning is also part of Erasmus+ where ongoing educational opportunities for educators and their learners are always available.

Year 3D are participating in an eTwinning project entitled ReLiSh (Read, Listen, Share) where various countries are taking part during book week. In this instance we read a story in Maltese called ‘Ninu, il-Pustier’ by Doris Schembri and listened to the French story ‘Roule Galette’. Mr Kenneth Busuttil and Mr Kamel both interacted with the enthusiastic students during the session.
Children in Year 3 participated in an activity named “Future Classrooms” in which they themselves had to use the tablet, together with Lego cubes to make a moving robot. After doing so, the children used the tablet to code the robot. Each group worked on a different project and shared their work with their others. They enjoyed it a lot.
The school administration would like to thank Ms Jessica Muscat and Ms Doris Schembri for their dedication and enthusiasm towards motivating the students to complete their project. A big WELL DONE !

Then Mr Brian Vassallo (Assistant Head) gave an overview of the school and its functions. They were later joined by Mr Kenneth Busuttil (HoS-MABS) who presented the Holy Qur’an (in Maltese) to Mr Tabone. Then, they visited Imam Muhammad ElSaadi’s office who greeted them heartily and expressed his wish for greater cooperation in the very near future. Ms Maria Galea, a sign language specialist was invited and gave an interactive introduction of the Maltese sign Language to the students. Our students participated actively and by the end of the session students were were able to construct simple sentences using the method presented by the speaker. The school administration would like to thank Ms Galea for her excellent delivery. Particular thanks go to Mr David Tedesco (Year 2 teacher) together with the assistance of Ms Ms Diana Salerno (year 6 teacher) and Ms Souad Elghazzawi (Arabic teacher).
Both Year 3 classes had a Maltese reading book about firefighters and safety. They really liked the book and we, educators thought about organizing an outing to the fire station in Paola in which the pupils could see what the work of a firefighter actually involves. Everyone enjoyed the outing and the firefighters themselves asked us to visit our school for a follow-up activity in which they themselves talked about safety at home. It was a very fruitful experience for the pupils.
The school administration would like to thank Ms Jessica Muscat and Ms Doris Schembri for their dedication towards the holistic development of all pupils under their care. THANK YOU !
