On Friday 24th May 2019 the Muslin Community in Malta celebrated the breaking of the fast (Iftar) and invited a number distinguished guests to join in the celebration. The President of Malta His Excellency Dr George Vella and his wife were the guests of honour. The community was also honoured by His Excellency the Libyan Ambassador Mr Saadun Suayeh. The ceremony was also attended by members of the clergy, academics from the University of Malta and high officials from the Ministry of Education and Employment. Also present in the celebration were the Administration of Mariam Albatool School -Mr Kenneth Busittil (HoS), Mr Brian Vassallo (AHoS) and Ms Deborah Atanasio (SMT), together with other members of staff. Ms Maria Camilleri, former Head of School was also honouring us with her presence. During his speech Mr Muhammad ElSadi spoke about the obligation for Muslims to fast during the month of Ramadan and the benefits which emanate from this noble act.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Muslim community would like to thank all those who participated in the activity. Particular thanks goes to Mr Alfred Scicluna for being the backbone of the whole organization behind the activity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
