School Initiative: Activity of the Month

At our school, we believe in fostering creativity and unity through our “Activity of the Month” initiative. This whole-school project encourages students from all classes to explore a shared theme, using their unique talents and perspectives to create something special. Each month, we select a theme aligned with curriculum learning outcomes, offering a chance for everyone to connect their classroom learning with imaginative projects.

Our Green Year 2026/27: Learning Through Sustainability

This year, our whole-school theme was Sustainability, inspiring our students to develop a deeper appreciation for the environment through meaningful, hands-on learning experiences. Throughout the year, pupils participated in a variety of classroom and outdoor projects focusing on recycling, nature, water conservation, biodiversity, and many other environmental themes.

During our special assemblies, we explored sustainability through an Islamic perspective, reflecting on Qur’anic verses and authentic Hadith that remind us of our responsibility to care for the Earth, avoid waste, and protect nature as an amanah (trust) from Allah.

Our sustainability journey was closely linked to the Let’s Talk Farming programme, through which students engaged in a range of farming-related activities. They also had the opportunity to visit local farms and nature reserves, bringing their learning to life. We were delighted to collaborate with Nahla Katerina – The Maltese Bee, where students discovered the importance of the Maltese honey bee, its role in our ecosystem, and the value of protecting this unique species.

As part of our commitment to creating a better future, we also embraced the  Sustainable Development Goals, encouraging our school community to take positive action towards sustainability.

Our Green Year concluded with a vibrant Celebration Day, where students proudly showcased their projects through exhibitions, presentations, and performances, sharing the knowledge and skills they had gained throughout the year.

This year has empowered our students with a greater awareness of environmental responsibility, and we hope the values and lessons they have learnt will remain with them for many years to come insh’Allah 🙂 !
