“Assalamu Aleikum! I would like to start by introducing myself. My name is Ms. Amber. I have been working at Mariam Al Batool for several years now. I believe that working hand-in -hand with parents is key to having a successful scholastic year. To help you better understand the way I teach here is a brief explanation on how I work. I believe that books are an excellent resource for young minds, fostering imagination while simultaneously supporting their development. From various books, one can abstract different themes which all connect to one book. Over a specific period, a new book is covered in class so together with the children, different fun activities are done pertaining around the books. All the Kindergarten classes at Mariam Al Batool follow the Emergent Curriculum. This means that the children are the ones who tell us what to teach them through observing their interests.”
